Following four successful IWA Specialized International Conferences on “Ecotechnologies for Wastewater Treatment (EcoSTP)” in Spain (2012), Italy (2014), the United Kingdom (2016), and Canada (2018), we are pleased to announce the 5th IWA EcoSTP conference (IWA EcoSTP 2021) “Impacting the environment with innovation in wastewater treatment” to be held in Milan (Italy). After the postponement due to the COVID-19 sanitary crisis, the conference has been moved to 2021. IWA EcoSTP 2021 will take place in June 2021 and will be hosted by the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of Politecnico di Milano. The conference is organized by a program committee composed by Politecnico di Milano staff and chairs of previous editions of the IWA EcoSTP conference. IWA EcoSTP 2021 is supported by Water Utilities, Companies in the Water Sector, Local Authorities and other stakeholders. Elolvasom

This Conference is dedicated to prof. Jan Oleszkiewicz for his contribution in nutrient removal and recovery on the IWA forum and water quality in Poland over the last 25 years. In the introductory session, prof. Oleszkiewicz will give a special lecture on “Sustainable wastewater treatment compatible with new regulations”. The lecture will be followed by a presentation on “Transformations in wastewater management in Poland in the last 25 years - from the outsider to the leader”. The next session will comprise a series of keynote presentations on innovations in biological nutrient removal and recovery (North-American and European perspective) as well as case studies from large wastewater treatment plants in Eastern Europe (including Poznan WWTP).
