15th EWA Brussels Conference: The EU Green Deal and Blue Challenges
Due to the COVID-19 risks both in your countries, in general, and in Brussels, in particular, the EWA would like to offer this year’s Brussels Conference directly at your (home) office. In this way you will be informed by the newest developments in Brussels while being in a safe place and, above all no travel costs incurring! In less than 3 weeks the four-part event will be initiated.
In December 2019, the European Commission announced the “European Green Deal” with the main target to achieve a climate neutral EU before 2050. In order to achieve this, water plays a central role. With this series of online seminars, EWA wants to highlight the importance of the water sector and the need of research to achieve the set targets within the Green Deal. Furthermore, simultaneously to the Green Deal, the EU Commission published the evaluation of the EU Water Framework Directive stating that the directive is fit for purpose. At the same time, the commission asserted that there is still a huge gap between the targets of the directive and the actual condition of the water bodies in Europe. With this series on The European Green Deal and Blue Challenges , the European Water Association will address exactly these topics.
