13th EWA Brussels Conference: Recent Developments in the EU Water Policy

On the eve of the 13th EWA Brussels Conference, the European Water Association (EWA) will award the William Dunbar Medal. Since 1973, the Dunbar Medal has been donated by Messe München International and awarded by the EWA to an individual, who has made a major contribution to the science and/or technology of water or wastewater management. This year’s Dunbar Medal Winner is Prof. Milenko Roš from Slovenia. We congratulate him for his achievements in the water sector!

13th EWA Brussels Conference
6-7 November 2017

Held in cooperation with the DG Environment of the European Commission, the main objective of the annual EWA Brussels Conference is to establish a dialogue between the European Commission and European water professionals and stakeholders.
The 13th EWA Brussels Conference will deal with the latest update on EU Water policy. Key note speaker is Esther de Lange, Member of European Parliament and Chair of the MEP Water Group, as well as Bettina Doeser, Head of C1, Clean Water at DG Environment will contribute. In session 1 the achievements and challenges of the Water Framework Directive will be presented. On day two, the topic Water as a Resource will in Session two, and last but not least, water as an interdisciplinary challenge will be discussed in Session three.

EWA Seminar on EU Water Policy
8 November

On 8 November 2017, the EWA is organising the popular “EU Water Policy Seminar” with Dr. Blöch as the chairman. This year’s seminar will give not only an overview of the EU Water Policy in general, but also touch upon the “Review of the Water Framework Directive and its Implications”.
